Agency: Finally, after 11 days of rocket and missile attacks, Israel and Palestine have reached a ceasefire. Israel's security cabinet has approved a ceasefire in Gaza.
Israel said in an official statement that a ceasefire had been proposed by the cabinet and that it had been decided by mutual consent and unconditionally.
An official statement from Hamas said a ceasefire would be reached by mutual consent with Israel from 2:00 am local time (5:15 am Nepali time).
At least 232 people, including more than 100 women and children, have been killed in 11 days of fighting in Palestine, while 12 people, including two children, have been killed in Israel, according to the BBC. In the last 24 hours, 11 Palestinians, including two children, have been killed and 190 injured.
According to the United Nations, 91,000 people have been displaced by the war. Gaza's 16,800 homes were damaged, leaving 1,800 uninhabitable and more than 1,000 completely destroyed.
After the ceasefire, people took to the streets of Palestine to celebrate. They have posted photos and videos on social media.
After the ceasefire, the international community has also welcomed it. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson called the ceasefire a welcome and important step. He noted that this important step had saved hundreds of lives.
The United States has said it is ready to work with the United Nations to rebuild Gaza. He also said the United States would work with the Palestinian government to justify Hamas' involvement.
